Day 803

Friday, March 27, 2015

Up at 4:45, racquetball until 7, home for breakfast and a solid 45-minute nap, then a long stretch of writing from 8:30-3 with 30 minutes for lunch.  What started out as 6,000 words of first draft material has been shaped into half that, with another 500 words being removed over the weekend and endless revisions until it's close to what I want.  I'm glad I'm getting this down.  There are so many doggie books out there, but I think this one might be different.  It certainly sounds different.  Anyway, it's nice to know that when I'm in writing mode, I'm fully there, unable to do anything else.  My place is a disaster, but at least my first chapter is coming along.

Picking up Alice at 4 and off to SF for the weekend.
