Gibraltar, British Overseas Territory - Cruise Day 3

It was a beautiful day in Gibraltar.  When I was here 31 years ago, the day was cold, rainy, windy and fairly miserable, though I made the most of it with a walk down the street and a book purchase (F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald short stories) at the local bookstore.  Today is beautiful and warm.  We took a shuttle to the gates of the city, then walked along the main street on our way to a cable car that would take us to the top of the rock.

A wonderful walk through Main Street

After a good 90-minute wait in line, we took the cable car up the rock to the monkeys and spectacular views.

About 40 or so monkeys live atop the Rock of Gibraltar

We stayed on the rock for about an hour before heading down.  We then walked through a very beautiful botanical garden for about an hour.

Back aboard the Royal Princess

We were due back on the ship at 5, but we were on around 4.  We had pizza for a late lunch at Alfredo's, then went to our cabin for a nap.  Dinner was at Concerto Dining where we met the Harrisons again for dinner.

This was a marvelous day and will probably be one of the highlights of the trip.
