Day - 1469

Wednesday, December 18, 2019

Racquetball at 5, then a full day of work, Christmas card prep, practicing and also a few minutes here and there of the impeachment debate and vote.  In rehearsal we played the scherzo movement from Beethoven's 9th Symphony to celebrate his 250th birthday.  We also played excepts from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.  After the sightreading, we practiced the first movement of the Amy Beach Symphony and Vaughn Williams' The Lark Ascending.

Back to the impeachment debate.  It was surreal listening to Trumpists defend the indefensible.  Clearly, they have no shame.  What are they even in office?  If principles and doing the right thing are so meaningless to them, they should resign.  They won't though.  The coming political battle will come to a head soon enough.  Recapturing the Senate and Oval Office are of paramount importance.  Trump impeached himself.  Things will really get ugly now.
