We had the morning to ourselves before leaving our hotel for the Diamond Princess. We spent the morning on e-bikes, riding around the piers near us, taking in some sites, seeing a formula one race with miniature cars, and exploring a few nearby neighborhoods. The weather was perfect, and riding these e-bikes is such a blast. We loved it.
We came back to our hotel at 11, packed everything up, and said goodbye to our wonderful corner suite!
We then took a taxi to the cruise port about 3 miles away. We were in our cabin by 1. Alice loves to go straight to Horizon Court once our bags are in our room, so that's where we went. After lunch, we hung out at the Piazza, my favorite place, for lattes and dessert.
By mid-afternoon, we explored other areas of the ship. One place Alice really liked the last time she was on the Diamond Princess was Izumi, the Japanese Onsen onboard. We checked out the facility and got five-day passes.
The ship set off for open water by 4:30 p.m. At dinner we were given a special chocolate cake in celebration of our honeymoon. How sweet! Our cruise adventure was off to a fine start!
