Day - 1681 - Tokyo - Kobe, Japan

Monday, May 20, 2019

We spent the morning walking around our neighborhood ...

... and visiting the free Observatory inside the twin Government Building near our hotel.

The views were incredible.

We were off to Kobe around noon on the bullet train (Shinkansen).

We bought bento boxes for our journey train.  Though it was sunny in Tokyo, it was raining in Kobe.  They were good!

We reached Shin-Kobe by mid-afternoon and took a cab to our hotel on the water, the Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel.  There was a light rain outside, but the rest of the week was supposed to be blue skies.

Great balconies

I snagged a great deal on a deluxe corner suite through Priceline back in December, so our room was really nice and spacious, as was our equally spacious balcony.

After a short rest, we went out for our Kobe beef dinner at Steakland.  It was fine, but nothing like the Kobe beef we had at Narisawa.  Still, it was fun to see the chef cooking our steak in front of us.

After dinner, we took a cab home and went to bed early.  We were both pretty tired after a full day of travel.
