How big a misstep will a Russian invasion of Ukraine be for Putin? I would wager a substantial one, but what do I know. This is the will of someone detached, unhinged, bored. Two years of Covid may have dulled his calculated clarity. Or this is simply the next evil step in his evil master plan. At any rate, this feels like something out of the dark side of the 20th Century.
