Day - 884

Sunday, July 25, 2021

Caught Uber early in the a.m. and flew into Seattle at 10 a.m. Picked up my rental car and drove to Olympia, hitting busy traffic in Tacoma (surprisingly). Wow, when did that gigantic casino off I-5 open up?

Arrived around 12:30. Happy times! The entire Arend gang was there to celebrate Brenda and Jack's 31 years of marital bliss. Seriously, these two do not age (Vampire alert!).

They make living the good life look easy.

Not only are Brenda and Jack two of the coolest, awesomest people around, they also managed to raise a new generation of three equally cool, awesome human beings (Amanda, Emily and Thomas). Emily has turned her Covid baking into an all-out passion. She made cakes, brownies, cookies for the event (I had them all and umm-umm-delicious).

Cheryl and Grant were at the party. So good seeing them! Such a treat catching up with old friends. I'm loving Grant's new Hemmingway look.

Neal and Karin arrived later in the afternoon. We ended up playing Mille Borne for an hour or so. Fun.

Afterward, we sat by the fire pit telling stories and reflecting upon the fabulous day.
