We went over to Howard and Leslie's for dinner. Games 6 of the Warriors Rockets battle was on. We watched some of the game before dinner and talked about the state of the nation...not good. A constitutional crisis indeed. Even I'm getting a bit nervous about things. When one side doesn't play by the rules, anything is possible when trying to enforce how things are supposed to work. The real world has taken on a Star Wars dichotomy of Team Luke Skywalker vs. Team Dearth Vader. The GOP power structure made a decision to align with Asset regardless of consequences.
The Warrior game ended up being memorable. With Durant out with a calf injury, Houston was a 7-point favorite to tie the series and send it back to Oakland for a decisive game 7. No one expected the Warriors to win, but that's when they're dangerous. They kept the game even at 57-57 at the half, even though Steph Curry hadn't scored a point and had three fouls. Klay Thompson was hot and kept the Warriors in it. Then in the second half, Curry went off, scoring 33 points, including two impossible three-pointers late in the game. Houston fell short and the Warriors won 118-113. It was a great great Warrior win and the end of a nerve-racking, hard fought series against perhaps the greatest threat in the Western Conference.
So satisfying!
