Stockholm, Sweden (Day 10 at Sea)

Our last city to visit (and our last guided tour of the cruise) was Stockholm, Sweden.  It was another clear, cold morning.  We were ready to go by 8.

Instead of docking on a pier, we tendered in Nynashamn, Sweden about 40 miles from the capital.

Our buses were ready to go by 9.

Our guide Karin was very pleasant and friendly.  It took about an hour to reach Stockholm in fairly thick traffic.

Our first stop was Fjallgatan, a great spot featuring sweeping views of the city.

We continued driving through the city on our way to the Vasa Museum.

Visiting the Vasa Museum was one of the highlights of our trip.  The Vasa was a war ship that sank on its maiden voyage in 1628.  In 1961, the ship was raised to the surface in near perfect condition.  It was quite a sight seeing this amazing ship on display.

Next we headed to the waterfront, where we took pictures of City Hall from the distance.  Unfortunately, we didn't have time to visit City Hall.  Next time.

Next, we went to Gamla Stan, the old town of Stockholm.

We had a great lunch at a restaurant called Agaton in the heart of Gamla Stan.

Good local beer

After lunch and an hour bus ride back to Nynashamn, we tendered back aboard the Regal Princess.
