We headed back to Kyoto to visit the famous Arishiyama Bamboo Grove. It was another gorgeous, hot day.
We had breakfast just outside the Kyoto train station at a local ramen shop popular with the locals.
Then we took a second train to the Saga Arishiyama Station on the San-In line.
There's a scenic train that runs near the area but it was closed today, so our only option was to walk to the bamboo grove, about 15 minutes from the station. Alice was feeling the burn in her hip from all the walking we did yesterday, so we didn't spend too much time here. Still, it was wonderful seeing such a famous Japanese landmark.
With the heat bearing down on us and the fatigue from the past couple of days wearing on us, we decided to head back to our hotel by early afternoon and relax.
At the hotel, we enjoyed afternoon tea, a real treat.
Afterward, we lounged around on our balcony, enjoying the beautiful afternoon.
For dinner, we walked around Kobe's Chinatown.
Nothing looked too appealing, so we went to one of the large department stores that have large basement food courts. We bought what looked good and had a delicious meal in our room.
Tomorrow, we visit Nara. Hopefully, we'll be able to use the e-bikes that are scattered throughout the city.
