Up at 7, a little writing to start the morning. Wrote for an hour, read for an hour, then went to brunch with Alice at a place we'd been wanting to try called Outerlands on 45th and Judah.
It was featured on KQED's Check, Please! Bay Area. They remodeled a few months ago, so it was the perfect time to try them out. We arrived a little after 9 and there was already a long line to get in. We waited roughly 20 minutes for a table.
I ordered chicken mole and a scone and Alice had the dutch pancake in a cast iron pan. Alice had coffee and I had a latte. It was good. Our food arrived quickly and it was pretty dang yummy.
A bit pricy for what you get, but an otherwise enjoyable brunch.
Afterward, we came home and did our thing. I continued writing and reading and Alice started packing for our trip. She was very excited when she managed (somehow!) to upgrade our cruise accommodations from a regular balcony room to a mini-suite for the same price. She is a maestro at that.
Watched a pretty powerful 60 Minutes after dinner.
The first story was about the sarin gas attack on a town in Syria in August 2013.
al-Assad has so lost his way and has become the region's new Saddam Hussein.
To bed early at 9.
