Woke up late this morning, perhaps because I was up until way past midnight watching Jimmy Fallon bring The Tonight Show back to New York. Jimmy will be just fine. As much as I love Dave and Conan, Jimmy seems a better fit. Sure, Dave and Conan deserved to be host, but they're too edgy and weird for mainstream America, and I've always seen The Tonight Show as solidly mainstream. Johnny epitomized mainstream sensibilities. The Tonight Show is in good hands. It all worked out in the end.
Wrote a bunch of part two chapters and scenes, the abduction sequence. This book, True Colors, is truly weird. Not typical at all, which may be a problem.
