Went to Carnival on Mission Street with Allan and Sharon, Cecilia and Jay, on bicycles. Such a nice day, sunny, warm, a perfect Bay Area day. Had food from a food truck for lunch, then rode back through winding streets and Fell Street. Home by 3:30 so that Alice to meet her latest Airbnb guests at check-in. Montreal and Quebec City research rounded out this enjoyable Sunday.

Quiet day at work and finished early and hit the Oaks for a 5.5 hour session with only one good hand and several non-starter hands. One bad beat for a -$248 session that lasted until 9:30 p.m. Watched the Miami Heat force a game 7, which was fun to watch.

Back at work and on the upswing. Being sick is the worst. I've never handled it well. There's only so much sleep a body can take.
Warriors completed their series gentleman's sweep of the Mavs tonight, playing so well and closing out the series in championship fashion. Klay Thompson was on fire with 32 pts. Loved it!

Out sick again, though Alice had a luncheon for her bridge friends. Somehow, I made chicken tikki masala in the morning. Spent the rest of the day in bed at home and watched the Warriors lose their gentleman's sweep game in Dallas.

Wow, feeling so crummy today. I worked but took lots of breaks and just slept on the couch. Ugh.
Watched the Warriors play and they came back from down 19 to win this one and take a 2-0 lead in the series. Looking good!

Spent the afternoon with Khaled setting up our podcast studio, testing equipment, monitors, etc. Dorian is in Hawaii this week, so perhaps next week we'll record.
Feeling a sore throat coming on. Not good. I took a Covid test and it was negative.

Back home after an early morning flight from Bellingham. It's great to be back in the Bay Area, but I sure was sluggish today. It was busy too. No poker tonight. Just rest after work.

Nicole and Hailey arrived at the hotel around 1 pm.
We went for lunch and lattes, then got ready for dinner at Lombardi's.
Dinner was wonderful. It was great seeing Dad and Sue and Uncle Steve and Nancy. I'm so glad we were able to celebrate Dad's 80th together.

Drove to Dad and Sue's in the am and met Sue at their house. We headed to Birch Bay and walked a good 90 minutes before lunch. Had fish and chips at a place looking out into the bay. A quiet, overcast day but pleasant and not raining.
After lunch, I headed back to the hotel and rested an hour or so before a 9-hour poker session at Slo Pitch. Won $1,500 in the session when all was said and done, including $250 four quad 5s. I caught cards and also had a good feel of the players. Also had a front row seat to the Warriors game with a big screen directly in front of me. Watched the Warriors beat the Grizzlies and end the series 4-2. Left the card room at 2:45 a.m. Fun night!

Flew into Bellingham at noon, picked up rental car and arrived at the Oxford Suites around 1. Settled in, working until 4. Headed over to Bellis Fair mall across the street and had dinner, then played some pinball at an arcade near Target. They had 8 great pinball machines. I played them all, then headed back to the hotel and called it a day.

Didn't get home until very late, so started the day a bit tired and sluggish. Picked up energy later in the aftenroon and played for three hours at the Oaks while watching the Warriors game 5. Ouch, what an ugly game.
Lost $43 in an up and down session with few cards and bad position. I was more interested in watching the game anyway.

The Warriors game was a bit painful tonight. GP2 broke his elbow (or fractured it). He's most likely out the rest of the year. The Grizzlies are tough and Ja Morant. He scored 47 pts. Yikes. He's something to watch.

Bought a new Surface Pro 8 at Costco. Sweet portable computer. Very fast. Alice has enjoyed her Surface Pro for two years now. My HB laptop will stay at Alice's and I'll take the Surface Pro to Oakland.

We hosted a wonderful lunch in the back yard for Jay, Cecilia, and Amy. The weather was perfect. We grilled on the Blackstone and let the chickens out.
After lunch, I watched Game 1 of the Warriors Grizzlies. Oh wow, what an epic battle. Super tense, especially the last two minutes. The Warriors pulled it out at the end. Awesome game!

Picked up Heather at Pier 35 at 10 and drove to Sausalito for the afternoon. Perfect weather and lunch was delish. Found a great Christmas decoration for Karen's electric Christmas tree. She'll love this addition of a '50 TV playing a train set going through a winter snow scene with eight different Christmas songs playing. I love this sweet little ornament.
